SHOWING UP AND BEING A PART OF OTHER CULTURES IS SUCH A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCECategory: It's All About Showing Up Stories Published: Monday, June 08, 2009 I thought that this past weekend my partner June Davidson and I would be at my daughters Lake House in Lake Arrowhead, California working on our soon to be published book "The Millionaire Blueprint for Women. But because we are known as the SHOW UP queens, we never know what might happen. We received a phone call from Robert Yang a potential client who owns International Marketing Avenue (IMA and Shong Leng Yang, Vice President to fly to their new Corporate Headquarters in Minneapolis, MN 55413, so we immediately changed our plans and headed to LAX to catch a red eye flight. We landed at 6:00 am and we were met by Shong Leng Yang, who drove us to the hotel they had secured for us to allow us to unpack and get a few hours rest before picking us up and taking us to a fantastic restaurant for lunch where we had the opportunity to meet the wife of Shong Leng Yang, Zoura who was so delightful as was this great food we were eating, we then headed for their corporate office where we met staff and I had the opportunity to meet Robert Yang the CEO of the company. IMA is a company that provides Personal and Business Credit improvement and helps companies and individuals establish a business line of credit. They also offer a line of products and a business opportunity to its members. That night we attended a business opportunity meeting at their headquarters and immediately met so many wonderful men and women from their LAOS communities and heard their stories of how they came to America and how they are living the American dream and how IMA is helping them even more to expand their dreams. What was so wonderful is to hear how dedicated no matter what age these LAOS people are to their families and how they not only help their own families but reach out and help others from their country. While there I had the opportunity to help the CEO Robert Yang in the design of his book cover for his new E-Book entitled "Banking Industry Secrets - Raises Your Credit Score" Mr. Robert Yang the CEO is a brilliant man, in addition to being the CEO of IMA his past experience includes President of an International Bank, Vice President of Corporate Affairs at a large Insurance Company which today is an $800 million dollar company. He has over 20 years of business and finance experience including consulting and management and has assisted several hundred companies throughout the U.S. His success is largely credited to his ability to establish innovative business strategies for businesses of all sizes and capacity. Among his many accomplishments is his ability to build business credit for businesses and individual clients using many of the strategies that are contained in this new E-Book. Within 30-60 days he is also going to a business book on business credit and get it published. It would take years for companies and individuals to pull together all the information that is contained in this E-Book. He is also a sought after global speaker and consultant. It was also rewarding to hear some of the stories of the struggles these people had to get to America, Shong Leng Yang, the Vice President told of how when he first came he knew no one and yet over the years has gone to college and become a financial and health expert and in addition to being a Vice President of IMA also owns Nursing Homes for the elderly from his culture. He shared stories that even up to several years ago when he went home to visit that he would have to walk for a day and a half to get to his family home to visit and how he then moved his family to a town near an airport as he was finding it harder to do these long walks as he has gotten older. Seeing how he lights up when he talks about his wife and beautiful twin daughters and how he and his wife would love a son to carry on the legacy that he has put together for him and his family and his people. We got invited to a fantastic restaurant owned by one of their friends from LAOS that had some wonderful food and at this lunch 20 other leaders from their company joined us and embraced us as a part of their world. That same night we were invited to Mr. Shong Leng Yang's home to meet his family and others from the company, what a magnificent home and what a feeling that we truly were welcome by them was felt. The food also was so tasty and I think it was like a 4 day event of eating and being part of one of the warmest communities I have been a part of in years. This house which he designed and built was over 9,000 square feet and even had a banquet room in the lower level. The next night we had another feast along with meeting new people and hearing their dreams and visions as they came over and introduced themselves to my partner June and I. Everyone wanted their photo with us and I was starting to feel like a celebrity with all the media photographers around. Sat night there was a big open house and a banquet at a hotel, yes more food and my partner June Davidson had the opportunity to be one of the speakers from the stage and after many came up to her and said how she totally inspired them to go for their dreams and how they knew that IMA was the vehicle to help them do that. There was dancing and singing and in fact June won first place in the dancing contest. Listened also to some of their traditional music and also heard from other great speakers and their testimonials. June and I felt honored to be in Mpls., and to be a part of this great first Open House for the company and to learn about all the great work they are already doing, and how their opportunity is drawing so many to become part of their IMA family. Sunday was our last day in Minneapolis and we felt a little sad to know we had to leave these wonderful caring people. We had a meeting with their Executive Staff in the morning and then headed to Song Leng Yang's house again where he was preparing a backyard BBQ of more wonderful food and more people who showed up to wish June and I a safe journey back to our home in California. They let us know that we were part of their family now and we had an open invitation to come back anytime; they would again be waiting for us with open arms and lots of FOOD and Friendship. Both June and I could totally feel the heart of these wonderful caring people. I was thinking I wish our culture would realize how important a persons community of family really is instead of always putting work first in our lives. The love this community of people feel for each other was so apparent no matter where we were and the help they offer to each other to bring them back up in these tough times is also so inspiring; to them its not about them individually, but what they can do for each other and each others family that is so apparent. Because we showed up, June and I came back with knowledge of a culture that we did not have much information on, we learned some great business strategies from a brilliant man Robert Yang, and formed friendships that will be with us forever. We are also in the works of having Mr. Robert Yang as one of our clients, but most of all to us is the friendships that came together because we were willing to shift our plans and get on a plane to Minneapolis not knowing what the end result would be. But as I always say Showing Up is like a treasure map, and our treasure was learning about this MONK community of people from LAOS who came to America with nothing but who today are such a part of our great country and June Davidson and I were so honored to spend 4 days with these loving and caring people who are now our friends. One of the wives told us about how she and her family who fled LAOS went to France and she was only 5 years old but because her family could not speak French they took her away from her family and put her in a home and it was years before she was reunited with her family and during those years she did not know if they where still alive or not. Today she has a wonderful husband who is one of the leaders at IMA and she works in a very responsible job for Wells Fargo, we talked to some of the younger ones that want to be an OBGYN doctor, own a nursing home, open a flight school and so much more, and they feel being in America will allow them to have their dreams come true and that also IMA is the company to move them to their next level. Visit the IMA Website today. Well all great things must come to an end, so we boarded the plane at 9:45 pm and headed back to California. I got back to my house last night at 3:25AM after dropping off my partner June in Sierra Madre at her home. On the way back June and I talked about what a magical 4 days we had and how wonderful "It's All About SHOWING UP" really is and about all the wonderful people who are part of the IMA family that we were honored to meet and how we look forward to seeing them all again. So remember the next time you can SHOW UP somewhere just do it, as you never know what magical moment will occur for you, we sure had a lot of them appear for us in these last 4 days, and look forward to more visits with these dynamic people and to continue to grow and cultivate the friendships we made these past 4 days for the rest of our lives. Remember it is truly all about SHOWING UP and the POWER is in the ASKING. So where have you SHOWN up lately and what have you ASKED for lately? Robbie Motter Please Visit:

I myself have not been much of a doctor person over the years. Recently I had to give in and SHOW UP at my wonderful doctors office as I was having some knee pain.
