SHOWING UP on LINE

You know how I always say that SHOWING UP even on Social Network is a great thing to do, and it is and I am happy to see more and more of YOU doing just that, and when I get to see and connect to the thousands that are connected with me I am so thrilled as I get to learn more about those individuals and find out how I can perhaps help THEM, perhaps its to connect them with someone else or just be there for them which also is a good thing.

Well yesterday I received an email from someone who worked for me in the past , in (the 80's when I was at GSA. She was searching through facebook , saw my name and did a post and asked if I was the same Robbie Motter that worked for GSA in the 80's/ I saw the post and responded YES I was that person and gave her my website www.rmotter.com and Blog http://blog.rmotter.com address and my email, so she could catch up on what I had been doing since we were together at GSA in Crystal City, VA for over 5 years in the 80's/

Her name is Holly Lee Goodwin, and this morning when I opened my email there was such a nice note . In it she shared what she had been doing since we were together. She told me she stayed in Federal government for many years and then went to a higher level position for the Commonwealth of VA in Warren ton, VA work and loves it . That is where she is still working and will soon retire from.

One thing she also said touched my heart which was:

"I see that you've been extremely busy in the last 30+years, I think it was in the early 80's when we first worked together. I remember how you used to urge me to expand my horizon and how ambitious you were. It was great to see all that energy in that stagnant office with a bunch of old fogies"

That just made my day, as even in the 80's I was doing my passion , which was to help women Soar to greatness and to hear how great she has done just made my heart sing.

It touched me like the day my daughter LIsa was promoted to President of the company she works for in LA and she sent me the email that said "Mom you always told me I could be President". That also was another day that touched my hear.

It was so great to go back in time , as those were some great times in my road of life, and this was the second time someone reached out that had worked for me in the last few years.

Last year John DiPrima, who worked for me when I was with the State Of New York Insurance Department Liquidation Department in New York City, found me on Social network. He worked for me for five years and it was wonderful to also reconnect with him and hear about his career . He also said that I was a great inspiration for him to strive to reach all his dreams and goals which he has done. He is now retired from the State and City of NY and is doing movies, so that made me feel great as well.

John is the one that connected me with Cristina Fontanelli www.cristinafontanelli.com who is flying in from NY to be one of our entertainers for my May 2011 NAFE Western Conference SUCCESS UP, and you can see her right now on my Conference website which is www.wrnafe.com . Each day I am adding more to the conference website so its a place to keep coming back to check out.. If you click on Entertainment and then click on the link on that page you can hear Cristina sing 3 numbers. I will also get to see her in LA in September as she is flying in again for an event Jimmy Kimmel is doing and will again sing for his event. NAFE members and guests are already starting to register on the website for the conference and I have already sold 6 vendor tables for the event, and I am thrilled as it will be a wonderful two days and I will sell it out.

I remember what a very wise man told me when I was in my 20's his name was Henry J Kaiser the big man of all the KAISER successes. He owned the Hawaiian Village Hotel where I had the pleasure of becoming their first Director of Personnel and heading up their first time they ever entered a Float in the parade and we WON, He told me that Life is like a main highway, and sometimes things don't always go right and if when that happens we just say to ourselves "OH I am on the side road again,, and its funny but suddenly you find yourself not worrying about the problem its like the car turned itself around and you are back on the right highway of life." I remembered that, as a single parent raising three kids I found myself on many side roads of life, but every time I thought about that before I knew it I was back on my main highway of life, and on March 8th which also is the 100 year anniversary of International Women's Day I will be 75 years old and its so great for me to have these very special people come back into my life as well as all the wonderful people, people like you that are in my current life. I believe that is what keeps me young, knowing that there are still lots of people I have to meet, many places I still have to SHOW UP,and being able to stand back and watch the wonderful accomplishments of my children who are the greatest accomplishments of my life continue on their path of happiness and success and also to watch each of YOU soar to greatness and to be there to see your smile and beautiful hearts and how each day you make a difference.

Remember "Together we can do more" SO keep SHOWING UP, and remember the POWER IS ALSO IN THE ASKING.

Just returned from New York were I attended NAFE's Top Companies for Executive Women - 40th Anniversary event that was held on March 30 at Cipriani 42nd Street. What an amazing day.

I always wondered what people felt when their doctor gave them bad news. I myself have not been much of a doctor person over the years. Recently I had to give in and SHOW UP at my wonderful doctors office as I was having some knee pain. While I was there she asked me if I had any other problems and so I thought that I would share with her that I had been having a little breast pain on my left Breast for awhile.
